Miss Daisy XX

Miss Daisy XX was designed to compete in the 2022 FRC Season: Rapid React. The primary challenges faced by robots were shooting oversized tennis balls into a central goal as well as climbing across ascending monkey bars.
Intake
A pneumatically actuated four bar, this intake utilized mecanum wheels to vector nearby balls and increase the effective area of the mechanism while maintaining the same drivebase footprint. Constructed from HDPE and polycarbonate, this outboard mechanism was able to withstand hits from other robots through its compliance rather than extreme rigidity. These material selections also allowed the mechanism to weigh only 6.6 lbs, creating extra allowance for mechanisms which needed a greater weight allotment to succeed.
