As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at AndyMark, I worked to develop new products as well as modernize legacy systems to better suit the FRC market.
Box Tube Pivot System
With extruded square tubing being an extremely popular build system in FRC, I designed, from the ground up, a kit system from which high load joints could be created. Designed with customizability in mind, these pivot blocks feature numerous mounting and drive options. Further, I also performed extensive hand calculations to ensure axles would be able to support full robot level loads, meaning that users would not have to use special considerations when building around this system.
These kits support coaxial driving and wiring, gear, sprocket, and pulley drives, and can be used for axial and radial joints.

Swaged Pulleys
With the high speeds FRC mechanisms can operate at, one issue many teams have faced is the press fit flanges found on all pullies across the market can slowly wear off the pulley until they eventually fall off. This new swaged connection is stronger than the flange itself and thus creates a robust pulley which is able to withstand the shifting axial loads which lead to failures in other designs.
